Several options are available to those wishing to receive undergraduate credits for their work at Cemanahuac. (See "Academic Credit".) Below are two options available through colleges with articulation agreements with Cemanahuac including the Seattle Central Community College, and the University of Minnesota. CREDIT FOR SPANISH LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL STUDIES
TRAVEL/STUDY is designed to provide classroom enrichment opportunities and staff development possibilities for educators who undertake foreign travel and study programs. It offers the participants an opportunity to learn outside of the classroom and
to take advantage of materials and locations which are available only through travel and study programs offered abroad.TRAVEL/STUDY is open to teachers, librarians, administrators, private school personnel, and other interested persons who are working with children.
Professor Steven J. Tash is able to award undergraduate credit to college students and adults though the Cooperative Education program, Seattle Central Community College
for either Spanish language study or intensive travel study programs at Cemanahuac.
Professor Tash teaches as an instructor for San Jose State University and works as a part-time faculty member in the Learning Resources Center at Saddleback Community
College and as an ad hoc faculty member at Seattle Central Community College in Seattle, Washington. Mr. Tash has a B.A. in History, a M.S. in Information Science, and teaching credentials from elementary to community college. He has been involved with experiential education coursework with major universities for over 25 years. He is currently engaged and practicing Online Education and Distance Education teaching
utilizing the World Wide Web and various online discussion boards and environments such as Blackboard and Elluminate.
Seattle Central Community College is fully accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.

LANGUAGE STUDY:
These courses are for the student who plans on taking advantage of language study opportunities outside the USA, living with a family for total language immersion, and attending a language school while at the same time studying the culture of the country. Students will be expected to complete all course requirements upon their return to the United States. (5 or 10 credits)
HUM 291: Spanish Language Enhancement through Experiential Activities
TRAVEL/STUDY:
EDU 291: Using the World as a Classroom (5 or 10 credits)
Research outside the classroom is now a reality. Students will pick a travel destination, select a research topic, gather research data, and combine them all into a learning experience. This is a self-paced course designed to maximize learning and travel
experiences.
SSC 297: Travel/Study Experience (5 or 10 credits)
Designed to provide hands-on learning opportunities for students and other individuals who undertake domestic and/or foreign travel. It offers the participant an opportunity to learn outside the classroom by taking advantage of cross-cultural activities and events, historic sites, geologic formations, museums, etc. -- activities that are available through travel.
INTERNATIONAL INTERNSHIP/VOLUNTEER SERVICE
ITL 197: International Cooperative Education (5 credits)
Provides students with an opportunity to earn college credit for work experiences, internships, or volunteer service in an international setting.
ITL 198: International Cooperative Education (5 credits)
A continuation of ITL 197.

ACADEMIC CREDIT IN OTHER ACADEMIC AREAS THROUGH INDEPENDENT DISTANCE LEARNING
Earn a full semester’s credit in Mexico for less than a semester at home!
Spend an entire semester in Mexico and earn a full semester’s credit from an excellent US college. You’ll return home with very good Spanish language ability, a wealth of learning about the culture of Mexico, as many as 15 semester hours on your transcript, and an experience which can change your life. The University of Minnesota will accept students at a very reasonable rate, which includes tuition for 20+ hours of Spanish classes per week, University of Minnesota academic credit, housing with a carefully-selected Mexican family (double room), all meals, transportation to Cuernavaca from the Mexico City airport, educational field study trips, and a Spanish teacher/mentor who will help you on a regular basis.* Volunteer programs in children’s literacy are available for those who would like a service learning experience.
Three-week sessions are available at the end of December, 2010, also four 3-week summer programs in 2011. Students can come for more than one summer session, for additional academic credit.
